Mary Mozelle Marvin, 86, of Staunton passed away on January 3, 2022 at her residence.
She was born May 31, 1935 in Kitzmiller, Maryland, a daughter of the late Kepton Bright and Irma Gertrude (Hart) Burrell.
Mary was a member of the Staunton Apostolic Church and retired from Grief Genesco in 1994 where she was a member of the Needletraders and Industrial Texile Employees Union.
In her lifetime she raised 3 young siblings after the death of their parents and was an advocate in the construction of the access road to be built for easier entry to the Gypsy Hill Apartments.
She graduated from Bible College in New York.
On June 17, 1961 she married Oliver George Marvin who preceded her in death on July 30, 2000.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Eugene Burrell, Charles Burrell, Sara Miller and Joellen Gross.
Survivors include a son, Les Marvin and wife Carol of Staunton; 3 grandchildren, Leslie Marvin of Richmond, Tyler Marvin of Staunton, Erik Marvin of Staunton; great-grandson, Jackson Chandler of Richmond; brother, Andrew Burrell of Maryland; sister, Martha Lazarte of Springfield; special friends, Libby Sensabaugh and Mary Cash as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Michael Eastman, Pastor of Staunton Apostolic Church officiating. Burial will be private.
Friends and family may pay their respects one hour prior to the service.
