Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Mills; and two granddaughters, Luna and Evelyn Bellew.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Sidney and Brenda Bellew; sons, Jeremy Bellew, and Garren Bellew and his wife, Rose; granddaughter, Rachel Bellew; sisters, Sherrie Crawley, Beth Stone, Sharon Edge and Rachel Tucker (Mark); and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Scott was born in Charlotte, N.C. and attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. He worked for many years in the trucking industry.
His family and friends fondly knew him as the “Mad Chef”. He loved cooking and showing off and sharing his delicious food. Another one of his loves was Bluegrass music.
Scott was a very involved Master Mason of the Grassy Knob Lodge #471, holding the office of Tyler. He was the recipient of the Franklin Cash Award in 2023 from the lodge. He was instrumental in the startup of the lodge's Road Side Clean Up program.
He was also one of the founding members of the non-profit, My Brother’s Keeper of Iredell.
A service of inurnment will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at the Columbarium of Union Grove Methodist Church, 1331 Sloans Mill Road, Union Grove, N.C. 28689. Immediately following the service, the family will receive family and friends in the Fellowship Hall.
