Walter Lee Reese

Mr. Walter Lee Reese, 68, 712 Oakdale Drive, Statesville, died Sunday at his residence. He was born in Hickory on July 4, 1943, son of the late Harvey Aser Reese and Margaret Wilson Reese. On July 11, 1963 he married Cecelia Kindel Reese, who preceded him in death in August 1998.

Walter served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam conflict and attended NC State University. He was Vice President of Sales with Interstate Equipment. He was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts, being Scoutmaster with Troop 348 and was on the Board of Review with Troop 360. He enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors.

He is survived by sons Clark Reese and wife Amber of Statesville and Wilson Reese of Greensboro and a grandson Carter Ian Reese. Also surviving are brothers; Wayne Reese and wife Benelia and Harvey Reid Reese all of Hickory and Steven Reese and wife Van Delia of Catawba.

The family will meet with friends on Thursday, April 12th at 3 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and following the visitation will gather at East Side Baptist Church at 310 East Side Drive. Burial will follow at a later date.
