Shannon Ray McNiel

He was born March 25, 1971, in Statesville and was the son of Carol Seagle McNiel and Charles F. McNiel, Sr. of Statesville. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and prior to his disability retirement, he worked with Autec, Inc. He loved animals and was always known for his good-natured and pleasant personality.

He was preceded in death by two nieces, Leann “Petey” McNiel and Haley Dawn McNiel.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Chuck McNiel (fiancé, Ashley Severt) and Todd (Debra) McNiel, both of Statesville; a nephew, Anthony McNiel of Statesville; and two nieces, Mary Beth (Aaron) Allison and Emily Brooke (Tracy) Black, both of Mocksville.

Funeral service celebrating Shannon’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2013, at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Eanes and the Rev. Paul Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Monday at the church prior to the service, and at other times will be assembled at the home of his parents on Troutman Drive.
