Born May 27, 1920 in Davie County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Jarvis and Minnie Sheets Jarvis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters and her husband, Charlie McMahon and son-in-law Otis Snow.
She worked as a seamstress, was a long time member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the V-Point Homemakers Club. She also taught Sunday school and was a youth counselor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carmon (Gaylene) McMahon, Vance (Carol) McMahon, and Joetta Snow; five grandchildren, Tracy Plott, Susan Snow, Lori Snow, Jeremiah (Jamie) McMahon and Laura McMahon; three great-grandchildren, Leah (Evan) Harrelson, Evan Plott and Mollie McMahon; two great-great grandchildren, Carley Harrelson and Emilee Harrelson; brother-in-law, Albert McMahan and a very special friend and caregiver, Betty Thompson.
The funeral service honoring Mrs. McMahon will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Clarksbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mandy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the services in the church fellowship hall.
