Meredith Ann Brawley Pardue, 54, of 194 Grandview Drive, Statesville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday at her residence after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born November 18, 1955 in Iredell County, daughter of the late Bill R. Brawley and Judith Hartline Brawley. Meredith was a Preschool Teacher and had taught at Broad Street UMC, YMCA and St. John’s Lutheran and on October 17, 1976 she married David Pardue, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Joshua Pardue (Chelsey) and a daughter Sarah Keller (Lee), a grandchild Ethan Pardue, sisters; Patty Ostwalt (Randy) and Sandy Galliher (Terry) and several nieces and nephews, all of Statesville.
Meredith was a member of the United Methodist Women and Faith Circle. She loved to read and write children’s stories. She was a 1974 graduate of South Iredell High School and graduated from Mitchell Community College.
Services celebrating her life are scheduled for Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Danley and Rev. Olin Isenhour officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
