Mrs. Frances Marie Henry Jordan Freeze, 97, of Shelby and formerly of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Peak Resources in Shelby. Born in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Forest Burette Henry and Hattie Victoria Fisher Henry. Marie retired from Stimpson Hosiery, Brenton and Jantzen. She was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church of Statesville and First United Methodist Church of Troutman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Linney Jordan and Hival Dent Freeze; by a grandson, Ira Royster, IV; and brothers and sisters, Forest Thomas Henry, Florence Henry Marlow, John Allen Henry, Roy Odell Henry, Lillian Henry Meadows, George William (Bill) Henry, Robert Lynn Henry, Jackie Lee Henry and Hattie Henry Little.
Mrs. Freeze is survived by her daughter, Judy Jordan Davenport and husband the Rev. Glenn Davenport of Shelby, NC; stepson, Charlie Freeze and wife Donna of North Myrtle Beach, SC; stepdaughter, Becky Freeze Royster of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris Davenport and wife Johnnie of Shelby, NC; Scott Davenport and wife Rebecca of Shelby, NC; Todd Freeze and wife Lisa of Monroe, NC, and Julie Freeze Carlton of Dalton, GA. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Christin Davenport Ledford and husband Dalton of Shelby, NC; Gabriel Davenport of Shelby; Aiden Davenport of Shelby; Carrie Carlton of North Myrtle Beach; Charleigh Carlton of Dalton, GA; Adam Freeze of Monroe and Charlie Scales of Shelby, NC. Many nieces and nephews also survive her.
A graveside will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Iredell Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Glenn Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Graveside and at the home of Mrs. Freeze.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Diamond Hill Baptist Church of Statesville, First United Methodist Church of Troutman, the Children’s Home of Winston-Salem, NC or to the organization of the donor’s choice
