Born in Iredell County, he was the son of the late George Allen Cook and Vivian Christy Cook.
Larry loved car racing; was a life-long member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church and had worked as a security guard at Freightliner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Cook and one sister, Linda Howard Woods.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Betty Cook Padgett; nephew, Randy (Tammy) Howard; great-niece, Christy (Kenney) Kress and great-great nieces, Bailey and Paisley Kress.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Dermont Crabtree officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, Samaritans Purse or the charity of choice.
