Scotty is preceded in death by his father and mother, grandchildren, Cayden and Riley Blankenship; brothers, Rodney Daniel Phifer, Joe Watson Phifer III., and James Mayhew.
Scotty leaves behind a large family: wife, Penny Tilley Phifer; daughters, Amber Clement (Alvin), Megan Newton; grandchildren, Darrius Wilson, Kylia Clement, Jaikyn Blankenship, Natalie Carcamo; step father, Sterling McKee; brother, Elliott Phifer; sisters, Wanda Smith (Erwin), Lisa Phifer Speaks (Gary); sister in laws, Pam McCombs, Ann Phifer; numerous nieces and nephews. Many caring friends, and his constant companion, his fur baby Diablo, the apple of his eye.
Scotty attended Mooresville schools, was a retired truck driver, and also an owner and operator of his own bus. Scotty danced to the beat of his own drum (with or without music), and loved Volkswagens.
A visitation will be held for Scotty on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 11am-12pm, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral will begin at 12 pm on Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
