She was born May 1, 1921 to the late John Sherrill Cloer, sr. and Rita Bell Brown Cloer. She retired from Seminole-Uniglass Mills after 40 years.
Going to the beach was a passion of hers, taking trips to the mountains and best of all, she love going shopping.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cloer was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Caldwell Cloer at the age of 49. She is also preceded by two sisters, Edna C. Peacock of Colorado Springs, CO and Martha Jean C. West of Statesville; four brothers, Clyde, John Sherrill, Jr. Hoyt and the Rev. Richard Cloer, all of Statesville.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sylvia C. Johnson and husband Tommy; one son, Luther Martin “Sonny” Cloer; seven grandchildren, Perry “Dooner” Keller, Jr. and wife Dawn, Cathy “Tootie” Daniel and husband Rick, Karen Pharr and husband Rev. Michael Pharr, Tina Brown, T.J. Johnson and wife Jennifer, Suzanne Smith and Jennifer Cloer; thirteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Monday, January 12, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Michael Pharr officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick West, Roger Dale West, T.J. Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Terry Cloer and Calvin West.
The family would like to acknowledge the special care provided by Autumn Care and Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.
Special thanks to her granddaughter who gave extra special attention to all of her needs.
