Born August 24, 1948 in Sullivan County, TN, he was the son of the late James Rollen Gibson and Ruby Lee Gilliam Gibson.
Mr. Gibson worked as a livestock dealer and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
He was recognized as Iredell County Farmer of the Year and FFA Virginia Sate Farmer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Tina Doran Gibson; son and daughter-in-law, James Justin “Jimmy” Gibson and Allison; one granddaughter, Kaydence Nicole Gibson; siblings, Thelma Jones, J.R. Gibson and Carl Gibson.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at New Prospect Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Josh Byrd and Rev. Joey Campbell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 509 Prospect Rd, Statesville, NC 28625; North Iredell FFA 156 Raider Road Olin, NC 28660 or to the charity of choice.
