Mrs. Margaret Waters Pittman, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, August 30 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Pittman, a native of Webster, Florida, was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils, and member of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pittman was an avid gardener who was especially fond of growing roses and blueberries. The church often used her roses in alter arrangements for Sunday services. She is preceded in death by husbands, Hugh Reginald Waters, Sr. and Bob Pittman; a brother, Irvin Brinson; two sisters, Doris Wright and Sydney Stewart.
Survivors include a son, Hugh Reginald Waters, Jr. of Bangkok, Thailand, two daughters, Regina Waters Miles(Larry), Nevils and Kimberly Waters Page (Joe H. III), Statesboro; four grandchildren, SSGT Adam Miles (Mercedes), Minot, ND; Timothy Miles (Denise), Statesboro, Daniel Page, Knoxville, TN and Joel Page, Statesboro; four great grandchildren, James, Jesse and Jersey Miles of Minot, ND and Liam Miles, Statesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Mary Waters, Statesboro; several cousins, nieces and nephews and a very special cousin to whom she was particularly close, Jean Ward Jones(Harry).
The family would like to thank Ogeechee Area Hospice nurses and staff for their excellent and dedicated care. Thanks also to special care givers Gracie Williams and Pearl Smith.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Eason officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:00p.m. until the funeral hour.
Burial will be in the Corinth-Leefield Cemetery.
