David was born June 13, 1943 in Charlotte, NC and was a graduate of University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He then worked for Xerox Corporation for 10 years before starting his own company, ABM Graphics, then selling his business to Ikon, and working for them until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, David and his wife, Judy relocated to Hilton Head Island, SC from Birmingham, AL and lived there until they moved to Statesboro in 2012.
At the age of 19, he believed the good news of Jesus dying to pay the price for our sins and rising again to make it possible to have eternal life. He accepted the gift God offered and asked Jesus to come into his life. He had great joy in helping others know God’s good news. As he was becoming weaker both physically and mentally, with dementia, he still had a strong desire to let people hear the good news of God’s love for them through His son. He drove into neighborhoods and gave people he saw a $25.00 gift card to Cracker Barrel with a write up by Reverend Billy Graham that explained how to have eternal life forever with God.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Mackintosh of Statesboro; daughter, Laura Shepard and her husband, Mark of Birmingham, AL; son, Todd Mackintosh and his wife, Amy of Statesboro; sister, Gayle Easley and her husband, John of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, David, Amanda and Samuel Shepard all of Birmingham, AL and Mary Katherine, Anna Marie, Victoria and Thad Mackintosh all of Statesboro; and 1nephew, John Easley of Greensboro, NC.
