The Tattnall County native lived in Statesboro for the past 34 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was employed by Georgia Power Company for 32 years. After retiring in 2008, he owned and operated CG&P Trucking LLC. Charles was a huge Georgia Southern Football Fan and enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. Charles was the love of Glenda’s life for 35 years and a very loving and caring father.
Charles was preceded in death by his by his parents Don and Joyce Flowers Dickerson.
Charles is survived by his wife, Glenda Jones Dickerson of Statesboro; son, Don Thompson of Paradise Valley, AZ; daughter, Paige Turner and her husband, Travis of Atlanta; sister, Ann Dasher and her husband, Terry of Glennville; brothers-in-law, Billy Jones and his wife, Mary Anne of Midway and Bobby Jones and his wife, Becky of Metter; several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 9:30 AM until the funeral hour at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Moody and Mr. Lavonne Deal officiating.
Burial will follow in Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ed Mikell, Wayne Donaldson, Freddie Rushing, Timmy Rushing, Clyde Wilson and Ronnie Minick.
