Carolyn was born in Miami, Florida to the late Walter and Susie Lovett. She lived in many places throughout her childhood but ended up in Lawrenceville, Georgia. There she met her first love, John Wendell Sells and had a son, John Sells. She worked for the State of Georgia in the Department of Public Health for many years. Later she moved to Orlando, Florida where she met her second love, Mickey Taylor and embraced two more sons and a daughter. She worked for the State of Florida with the Department of Public Health for many years. After retiring from the State of Florida, she and Mickey were able to move to north Florida and enjoy retirement in the country for several years. After the passing of Mickey, she moved to Statesboro, Georgia to be close to her son and resided at Heritage Inn Nursing Home.
Carolyn enjoyed crocheting and making blankets for others. She loved to spend time with her family and socialize with friends and had a cheerful personality and always offered her beautiful smile. She loved to sing and you would often hear her singing hymns. Carolyn was a woman of strong faith.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Mickey Rayford Taylor.
She is survived by her son, John W. Sells and his wife, Lisa of Statesboro; sons, Frederick Taylor of Florida; Mickey (Karen) Taylor, of Florida; daughter, Sandy Taylor of Florida; grandchildren, Lindsey and Riley Sells of Statesboro, Jordan Taylor, Robert Taylor, Matthew (Sarai) Taylor, Cheyenne Taylor, all of Florida; great-granddaughter Adalina Rose due July 2018; brother, Jimmy (Charlene) Lovett of Kentucky; sister, Dorothy (Ralph) King of Sylvania.
An informal Celebration of Life will be held April 7th at 3:00pm in the chapel of Hodges Moore Funeral Home. We will welcome anyone who would like to speak about Carolyn during the celebration.
