Anne Gwinnett "Rennie" Bennett, age 65, died early Saturday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was a member of Lane's Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed music, taught piano for several years, and loved to sew. She also enjoyed bowling, but most of all, spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Akins; her father, L.W. Gwinnett; and her stepfather, Otha Akins.
Survivors include her sons, James Stewart Bennett II of Brooklet, Brian Keith Bennett, and wife, Dee Dee, of Statesboro, Kevin Richardson Bennett of Brooklet and Craig Ashley Bennett of Register; her brother, James R. "Randy" Gwinnett, and wife, Jan, of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Becki Hodges of Statesboro; her brother, L.W. "Nicky" Gwinnett Jr., and wife, Sandy, of Brooklet; and five grandchildren, Kyle Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Katelyn Bennett, Seth Bennett and Brooke Bennett.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lane's Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Summerford officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
