Beloved wife, mother, and daughter, Tracie Gonzalez (McCahill) was a woman with a big heart and an even warmer smile. Born on December 5th, 1969, Tracie grew up on Staten Island and was raised in Westerleigh. She attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from St. Peter’s High School for Girls in 1987. After graduation, she went to work in Manhattan for Johnson & Higgins, but left the workforce in 1998 and later became a full-time stay-at-home mom to her daughter Brianne. She married her husband, Jaime Gonzalez, of 29 years in 1994 and they settled together in Richmondtown. Tracie enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and soap operas, playing Rummikub, and decorating for Christmas, her favorite holiday. Tracie loved going on yearly vacations to Lancaster Pennsylvania with her family and visiting places like Sight and Sound Theatres, Kitchen Kettle Village, and the American Music Theatre. She also loved being around her little puppy Daisy who always followed her around the house. She especially loved spending time with her family & friends and helping out in the community. She was very active in the Parent Teacher Association at all levels of her daughter’s schooling and was a PTA officer & class mom at PS23 & IS24. She was involved in her daughter’s Girl Scout troop over the course of 13 years as a Troop Leader and a cookie drive co-coordinator. Tracie and her husband were heavily involved in the American Legion taking part in various programs such as their Children and Youth Breakfast and School award program which they participated in for 28 years. They were also involved in Boy Scouts of America Troop 25 and together welcomed scouts into their home to complete scouting requirements and host committee meetings. Tracie offered her exemplary organizational skills towards the troop as well as her excellent quality of kindness. Similar to her father, she was a quiet woman with a heart of gold. Her warm smile, laughter, and openness defined her genuineness and goodwill. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and was loved by many. Tracie is survived by her loving husband Jaime and her daughter Brianne. She is also survived by her mother Dianne McCahill and predeceased by her father Brendan McCahill. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive Tracie. Visitation will be at Harmon’s Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00-9:00 and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be from Blessed Sacrament Church at 10am on Thursday, February 23 followed by interment at Oceanview Cemetery immediately following.
