Rosemarie “Roe” Mancino (nee Michell) was born and raised in Port Richmond and graduated from Port Richmond High School.
Roe was born to be a mother. The pride of her life was her son Dennis. His marriage to Jessica and the birth of their son Ryan were the most joyous times in her life. Becoming a grandmother (Grammy) in 2017, Roe found an even greater happiness in her life. As she was fond of saying, her grandson Ryan was “her baby doll”. Ryan brought such happiness and excitement to her life and gave her many heartwarming moments and stories to share with her friends and family.
A caring and nurturing soul, Roe truly never met a person who didn’t become a friend. She maintained strong bonds for decades with friends from early school years. For 30 years she worked as an office manager for Dr. Ernest Visconti where she loved to interact with and help patients in the office. She loved her time in the office and enjoyed many friendships with her co-workers who she considered family.
Roe was extremely close to and loved by her brothers John, Thomas and Michael who will always hold “sis” close to their hearts. “My sister was an incredibly kind, compassionate and thoughtful person who remembered and celebrated every occasion for all of us” said her brother John. “My sister had a thing for angels, and it is clear to me she recognized her own kind”. Her love for family extended to many but especially her mother Marie, her sister-in-law Patty, her brother-in-law David and her nephews Thomas III and Christopher; all who shared in the warmth she extended and wrapped around those she loved.
Due to the pandemic, a funeral Mass will be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, etc., the family requests that Roe be remembered through donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or First Responders Children’s Foundation.
