Bob passed February 16, 2018, at home, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with diabetes, and most recent cardiac double bypass and Alzheimer's disease.
Native Staten Islander, born December 12, 1942. Son of Dorothy (nee Roberts) and Richard Christiansen. Bob spent his younger years in Travis, eventually moving to and growing up in Stapleton. He graduated from PS 14, Curtis High School and the College of Staten Island. Moved to Tottenville after his marriage to his wife of 54 years, Regina (Sue Hutton). Proud father to sons, Robert Jr. and Steven. He was twice blessed with 2 wonderful daughters-in-law, Lauren Kutney Brennan and Dorothy Plunkett Brennan. A Fulfilled Granddad to Robert, Brian, Devan and Casey Brennan - and delighted in their accomplishments. Loving brother of Linda Carmarda, Kathy Brennan Amoia and Richard Christiansen. Also survived by sisters-in-law Debbie Christiansen, Janet Broms and Ruth Hutton; brothers-in-law Tom Hutton and Doug Broms. Fondest cousin Sharon Mitchell along with other many nieces, nephews and beloved relatives and friends.
Bob was a member of the Encore Men's Billiards Club and the Tottenville Racquet Club. Graduate of Curtis High School and the College of Staten lsland. Retired from his position as a supermarket manager with A & P/Waldbaums supermarkets, worked in construction and was Property Manager for SVS Group Home division. Was often referred to as "Bob the Builder' by his co-workers for his ability to fix anything or build the solution. An animal lover, Bob is also survived by his faithful calico cat Kelly. Besides shooting pool, Bob used his time to expand his coin collection, read about history, old cars and enjoyed vacationing with his wife and family.
A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Casey Funeral Home followed by a burial in the Cemetery of the Resurrection, 361 Sharrotts Road, Staten Island NY 10309.
