She was born Nancy Sanseverino in Brooklyn, and left high school early to help raise her brothers after her mother died. She settled in Eltingville in 1989.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Liguori also had worked part-time as a bank employee.
She loved to dance and could often be seen on the dance floor with her husband, Gennaro, at family gatherings.
“She had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor,” said her son, John. “Her life was her family, whether it was spending time with them at holidays and celebrations, or quiet Sunday dinners.”
Mrs. Liguori was a parishioner of Holy Child R.C. Church, Eltingville.
Gennaro, her husband of 66 years, died in 2011.
Surviving, along with her son, are her daughter, Fran Buscemi; three brothers, Dominick, Cono and Anthony; a sister, Mary Coppola, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:15 a.m. in St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood. Burial will follow in Green-wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
