Katherine Anne Malec

She is predeceased by her husband Francis Malec and her son Christopher. She is survived by her son Walter, daughter-in-law Melissa, and grandchildren Nicholas, Kristen, Andrew, and Lindsey.

Katherine was truly dedicated to her family and friends. She loved her home of 72 years in Great Kills, and took great pride in the neighborhood she was part of. In 2020 she began a new chapter, relocating to West Milford NJ. to be close to her family. She embraced the change and immediately began to expand her friendships in her new community.

Katherine spent many years volunteering and was active in matters relevant to her community of Great Kills. Her time was spent with organizations with causes that were dear to her. Alzheimer’s association, Red Cross, Great Kills Civic Association, Seaview Women’s Auxiliary.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Katherine will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A visitation will occur Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 20, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at St. Clares Church, 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A committal service will occur Monday, March 20, 2023, from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306.
