Devastation doesn’t even begin to describe the profound loss of Joy. There’s nothing on this earth that Joy wanted more than to start a big old family with her husband Jim. It was her main focus and something she often spoke about. Finally this dream became a reality with the arrival of our beautiful Lilith. Joy’s dream came to an untimely end just a short time later. I so looked forward to watching Joy as she took on this new role of what would ultimately be the greatest mom around.
For one short hour she finally got to experience that burst of love and motherhood she had waited so long for, until she was cruelly taken from us. Lilith will have us all around to tell her how deeply she was wanted and loved, and her amazing Mom will never be forgotten. As private a person Joy was, she was still loved by so many. It seems as if everyone in her path had made their own unique connection with her, creating everlasting memories along the way.
Joy was more than an animal lover, she was a dedicated pet owner that would stop at nothing to make her fur babies happy. Joy was also a beloved aunt and godmother to many. Almost a second mom to most of the children in her life. Her devotion knew no bounds and the children she loved adored her right back.
Words cannot come close to expressing how deep we feel the loss of Joy, this will be a void that can never be filled, and all that we can ask is for all of us left behind without her, to keep Joy’s memory alive by telling her stories, and sharing the literal millions of pictures she held so dearly
A visitation for Joy will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.
A religious ceremony will occur Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church, 856 Targee St, New York, NY 10304.
