She was born Joan Fitzpatrick in Concord, and graduated from New Dorp High School
"She loved to laugh, dance, party, and have a good old time," said her daughter, Deborah Golat.
Mrs. Krause enjoyed walking, traveling, and socializing with friends.
She was a member of the Arrochar Friendship Club and the New Dorp AARP.
Mrs. Krause was a longtime parishioner of St. Sylvester R.C. Church, Concord.
Her husband of 57 years, Nicholas, died in 2011. Her granddaughter, Kelly Golat, died in 2002.
Surviving, along with her daughter, Deborah, are her son, James; her daughters, Laura McLoughlin, Lynda Picco, and Karen Parks; a sister, Barbara Frunzi; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sylvester Church. Arrangements include cremation.
