Harry Paul Scara, 80, of the Willowbrook section of Staten Island, passed away on May 27, 2017, at Silver Lake Specialized Care Center, S.I. He attended St. Paul's grammar school, St. Peter's H.S. and the Mechanics Institute. Harry served in the Air Force for three years. He was employed as a senior design technician with Con Edison. Harry enjoyed motorcycles. He was active with the Cub Scouts and Explorer Scouts, and the American Legion 40&8. He was married for 57 years to his wife, Alice. He is also survived by his children, Paul, Theresa Akard, Louis, Philip and Vincent; his grandchildren, Leighann and Louis Scara, and Jessica Obernuefemann and Katelyn Rourke, both of Texas; his brother, Robert Scara and sisters, Judy Scara and Joan Krysiak. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis A. and Carolyn Scara. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Church of the Holy Family. Interment is in Ocean View Cemetery.
