Gary received his education through the New York City Board of Education. He attended Emma Lazarus PS. 268 as well as Winthrop Junior High School 232. During that early time in his life, Gary was an adventurous Boy Scout as well as a Boy Scout Leader of Pack Troop and Post 216. While in school, Gary was an exceptional trumpet player and pursued his talent at the High School of Music and Arts in Manhattan. He was then accepted to The Julliard School but chose to attend and continued his education by attending New York City Technical College (AAS Degree) and the City University of New York (BA).
Gary was employed by The City University of New York as a Senior IT Associate at City Tech for 25 years, then moved on to Brooklyn College for 10 Years.
Gary met his wife Donna in 1999 and after a whirlwind relationship they were married on June 30th, 2001, they were together for 21 years.
Gary accepted Jesus Christ as is Personal Savior at an early age and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, the King Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church and First Central Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Reverend Calvin Rice.
Gary was an avid (sometimes fanatical) Giants and Jets fan. He also enjoyed Fishing, watching Movies, reading, and cooking on the Grill at family gatherings. That was his favorite thing to do. The one time he let someone else watch the Grill while he ran an errand, he returned, a short time later, the steaks were burnt to a crisp and no one was watching the grill. He did not get upset he just laughed and from that point on he would let no one else watch the grill, except for his son-in-law Justin Morris.
On May 22, 2022, Gary departed this life making his heavenly transition. He is preceded in death by both his parents and a host of relatives and friends. Gary leaves to cherish his memory his loving Wife Donna, children Brandon Wilson, Kayla Wilson-Morris, and Raven Wilson; Son-in- Law Justin Morris; Grand Children Adrianna N Wilson, Ocyan M Wilson Morris, and Wyatt R. Wilson; Sister Sheri Campbell and Brother Dennis Waller, Mother in Law Thelma Washington, Sister in Laws; Levora Roberts and Laura Harris, Brother in Laws; Raymond Campbell, James Roberts, Kenneth Harris and John Harris , God-son Charles Howard Perry, III as well a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
