Felix Stanton died peacefully at home on December 29, 2018 in Staten Island at the age of 69. Felix is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cecilia nee' Varas, his daughters Karen Browning and Teresa Ulsamer, sons-in-law Tim Browning and Daniel Ulsamer, and seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Colby, Daniel, Aidan, Peter, James and Bree. Also, survived by his brother Pat Stanton. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Anna Stanton and his siblings: Kenny, Annemarie, Tommy, John, and Lally.
Felix was born on January 16, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY. He received an Associates Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He married his beloved wife Cecilia in 1972. Felix began his career as a police officer for the NYPD at the 77th Precinct. He was promoted to a detective and retired from the 60th Precinct. A Vietnam Veteran, he was a patriotic man who could always be found wearing his American Flag Shirts. Felix loved grilling on the barbeque, watching Jeopardy, listening to 60's music and working on home improvement. His children remember him as a patient father and loving Pop-pop to his grandchildren. He was beloved by his nieces and nephews and remembered for his good humor.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, January 2 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 3 at 9:45 AM at The Church of St Clare, 110 Nelson Avenue. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
