Born Emma Lia in Stapleton, she lived in Tompkinsville for more than 20 years, before moving to Grasmere about 40 years ago.
Mrs. Rosato worked as an office clerk for the city Board of Education for 10 years, retiring around 1990.
She attended St. Sylvester's R.C. Church, Concord, and Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Stapleton, and was active in the Columbiettes.
Mrs. Rosato enjoyed dancing, shopping and visiting Atlantic City. She particularly enjoyed attending New Year's Eve galas with her sister-in-law, and spending time with her family.
"She always had a great eye for fashion,'' said her niece, Maria DeLuccia. "She loved having her clothes professionally made and her hair also done perfect. If it wasn't, oh, boy, you were in trouble.''
Her husband, Ferdinand, died in 1973. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday from the Virginia Funeral Home, Dongan Hills, with an 11 a.m. mass in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Stapleton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grasmere.
