She was born Dorothy Donovan in Elm Park and graduated from Port Richmond High School.
After she and Vincent Fitzpatrick were married in 1949, the couple moved to Elm Park. They settled in Westerleigh in 1953.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick worked at the city Board of Estimate. She later worked as a city school aide for 20 years.
When her children were younger, Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a member of the Mothers' Clubs at St. Teresa's School and Monsignor Farrell and Moore Catholic high schools.
She belonged to the Cichon Post of the American Legion, Port Richmond.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners, for more than 60 years.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, traveling and visiting friends.
Her husband of 62 years, Vincent, died in 2012.
She is survived by her son, Kevin, her daughter, Elaine Fitzpatrick-Carman and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10:45 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
