Colleen was born on April 22, 1962, in Staten Island, NY to Bartley and Ann Marie (Medoro) Cook. A force to be reckoned with from start, Colleen excelled at everything she set her mind to. She graduated from Tottenville High School in 1980 then went on to study at New York University (Class of 1984) and Brooklyn Law School (Class of 1987), graduating both Cum Laude.
After graduation, in 1987, Colleen went on to work as an attorney and eventual partner at Day Pitney LLC (formerly Pitney, Harden, Kipp, & Szuch). Colleen spent her entire career with her firm, working in the Real Estate and Environmental Department, until her retirement in 2021.
In 1977, Colleen met the love of her life, David. The two wed in 1983 and began their life together in Staten Island. Together they had one daughter, Megan, who was Colleen's pride and joy. Family meant everything to Colleen and in 2017, she took on her greatest role of being a grandmother to Addison. Lovingly referred to as Mimi, she forged a bond with Addison that will last a lifetime.
In what little free time she had, Colleen enjoyed reading, swimming, vacationing with her family, and attending her daughter’s, nieces, and nephews sporting events. An avid NY sports fan, Colleen also enjoyed attending football and baseball games for her favorite teams.
Colleen was so immensely loved, her passing leaves a hole in all she left behind. She is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Megan and her husband Steven and granddaughter, Addison; mother Ann Cook; sister Renee and husband Gerard Nicholson; sister Kerri and husband John Capelli; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
