Brian was born in Chester, England on March 5, 1947. After moving to the United States as a young boy his family resided in several states and eventually settled in Great Kills, Staten Island where he met the love of his life Nancy. Brian was a graduate of McKee High School. Shortly afterward he served in the U.S. Army. He fought with valor in the Vietnam War, was injured, and received a well-deserved Purple Heart Medal. On his return, he worked closely with his father as a cabinet maker and then worked as a carpenter in Manhattan. Brian went on to a career as a conductor on the Staten Island Rapid Transit. After retiring he moved to Manahawkin and then Barnegat, New Jersey.
Brian is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Annie (Nancy) Nixon and his beloved daughter, Christine Nixon.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years , Nancy, his daughter, Melanie and son in law, Michael Cregin, his granddaughters Kelsey and Grace Cregin, his sisters Sylvia (Richard) Carbone and Brenda (Peter) Larsen.
Brian is also survived by his many brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was much loved and his kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Brian will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Holy Child Church, 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10312.
