Anthony "Pop" Perlongo, 91, from Emerson Hill passed at home on Jan. 17, 2022, surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Irene; his son Paul and Franca Perlongo; his daughters Karen and Jim Giordano, Cynthia and Joseph Zero, and his grandchildren, Michael and Christine, Daniel and Viktoriia, Nicole and Michael, Domenick and Anna Lisa; and his great-grandchildren, Lucia, Isabelle, James and Natalie. Being an athlete all he life, he enjoyed playing softball, paddleball, pickleball as well as skiing and hunting. He has been a nationally prominent leader in the field of driver safety and education since 1954. His accomplishments on a state and national level include President of the Driver Education Guild, Executive Director of Highway Safety Foundation, Instructor at New York University, founder of New York Safety Program and member of various civic associations. Although, he always considered his family his greatest accomplishment. He will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts. Services being held at Casey Funeral Home, Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, Jan. 19, St. Sylvester's Church at 10 a.m.
