Annette Mazzella passed away peacefully February 16, 2020 at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, Fl. She was born on October 8, 1941, the fifth of eight children to proud parents, Louise and Michael Ciorciari in Brooklyn, New York.
She obtained an AA at LaGuardia College through The Women's Initiative Program while raising a family and working with special needs children as a Para Professional for the New York City Board of Education.
Annette had a calm demeanor and lust for life. She loved music and dance and had a great knowledge of song lyrics. Willing to help everyone and a great listener. The way she faced adversity, sickness and mortality was an inspiration. She faced every adversity with dignity, conviction and love. She had the uncanny ability to make you feel as if you were the most important person to her and she loved each of us for who we truly are. She never complained and lived by the motto that bad days end, the sun will always rise, everything will look better tomorrow and to complain is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Devoted to traditions, she loved to create gatherings and lived to draw people together.
Annette had a passion for volunteering and belonged to many organizations. She was an active member and past Vice President for the St. Brendan the Navigator council of Catholic Women of Ormond Beach and served several years as Social Chairwomen for the community in which she lived.
Member of Friendship Club of Palm Coast, Sunshine Group of Palm Coast, Fletcher Music Club and Moose Lodge member since 2015. She was also a past member of the Italian American Club of Ormond Beach and Volunteer Usher at The Peabody Auditorium and Volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Halifax Hospice Care Center.
Her favorite hobbies were crocheting, crafting, crossword puzzles, learning new things like playing the organ and organizing group celebrations.
Annette loved to travel. She traveled extensively in retirement including trips to Tuscany, Washington DC, colonial Virginia, Branson, Missouri, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas and Arizona, The Grand Canyon, Nevada, and the Caribbean and loved the thrill of good helicopter tour.
She is survived by 3 children, son Joseph A Ciorciari and daughter-in-law Emily of Staten Island NY, Daughter Cathy Ann Fedora and son-in-law Michael of Ormond Beach FL, son Frank P Mazzella and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Oakland NJ, 7 grandchildren Stephanie Guarino, Felicia Cook and husband Charles of Staten Island NY, Rianna Fedora of Lake Nona Fl, Marissa Fedora, of Ormond Beach Fl., Nicholas Mazzella, Sofia Mazzella, Amelia Mazzella each of Oakland NJ, 3 great grandchildren, Christopher Joseph, Vincenzo and Luca, sister Louise Krug of South Carolina , sister Bernadette Yuvino of Bloomingburg NY, brother Neil Ciorciari of West Berry NY, Michele Aurisano of Hazelton PA.
She is preceded by husband Francis P Mazzella, siblings Palma Gagliardi, Roseanne Badamo and John Ciorciari, parents Louise and Michael Ciorciari.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st, 2-5 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10am at Sacred Heart Church, Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
