Born in the Bronx in 1946, Ronnie Kaplan Smith, made Stamford her home for over half a century. She met her husband, George, while both worked for House O' Weenies in Queens and were soon married with the vow of "AMLAML - All my love All my life".
Ronnie opened Camera Wholesalers of Stamford, one of the largest camera stores on the East Coast, in 1976 and ran the establishment for 40 years before retiring. She never refused a donation request and strongly supported local children's and homeless causes. Ronnie was an avid reader. When she wasn't at the store, you'd rarely find her nose outside the pages of a novel. Although she was quiet, Ronnie sang with the award winning Yankee Maids and wasn't timid about embarking on travel adventures having been to dozens of countries in every continent except Antarctica.
Most of all, Ronnie was always there with a kind word and helping hand for her friends and family. She will be greatly missed and always be loved.
Ronnie is survived by her son Jason, his wife Thea and the family dogs Blaze, Indiana Bones, and Easkka
