Paul A. van Veen Sr.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Carol, they were high school sweetheart. He is survived by his three sons and daughter-in-law; Paul Jr. & his wife Lorraine, Kevin, and Edward. He is survived by 5 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, who all gave him great joy, and a loving sister, Rina Cupples of Sun Valley Az. He is also survived by his step-mother, Rie vanVeen of the Netherlands, who is 106.

Paul Sr. was a self-employed wholesale florist for H. J. vanVeen Company until his retirement in 2001. He was a certified leader of the Boy Scouts of America. He served as an assistant scoutmaster of troop 9 in Stamford. He also volunteered for the A.A.R.P. as a driver safety instructor. He enjoyed doing artistic landscape oil paintings as a hobby.

Paul Sr. died peacefully at home with family by his side.

A visitation for Paul will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St, Stamford, Connecticut 06905. A graveside funeral service will occur Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Ave, Stamford, Connecticut 06905.
