This bright Sunday morning October 27, Kathie went home to God instead of going to church.
Born in Buffalo NY and was an elementary school teacher in the Buffalo area. Her last teaching position before retirement was in Lakeland NY.
Kathie was an avid hiker who had almost completed the Appalachian Trail. She met and later married her husband on a group hike in the White Mountains. Kathie completed the following: New England 111’er, Catskill 3500, Adirondack 46’er, and the Long Path.
Kathie was also very active in the church: First Congregational Church or Stamford and recently The First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, the community thrift shop, volunteering for the Ferguson Library and a volunteer for the Afghan Resettlement Program.
Kathie is survived by her Husband, Ernest Laug DDS., her sister Patricia Hastreiter and her husband Joseph. Kathie is predeceased by her mother and father, Mary Lou Friedman and Richard Friedman and her brother, David Friedman. Kathie is also survived by her three step children, Rob Laug and his wife Teresa, Eric Laug and his husband Eugene Hawkins, Keller Deeley and her husband Charles and 3 grandchildren: Zachary, Jason, and Madeline.

Services will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, 1101 Bedford St, Stamford, CT 06905, on Thursday November 21st at 11am. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the same location.
