Robert Richard Chamberlin

Robert Richard "Bob" Chamberlin, 81, of Stafford County passed away peacefully Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 16, 1932, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Louis Edward and Opal Athena Chamberlin.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Irene Chamberlin; son Mark Chamberlin (Mary); daughter Mina Chamberlin; sister Beverly Guilmette; grandchildren Fallon Berger (Arnold), Barbara Tsaousis and Seth, Aaron and Nick Raiford; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Emily.
Bob spent his early years in Indiana and California until 1949, when he enlisted in the Navy, where he served in radio communications. Following his service in the Navy, Bob transferred to the Air Force and served in the U.S. military for a combined total of 22 years.
In 1957, Bob married Irene in her native Greece. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1970, Bob, Irene and their children, Mina and Mark, moved back to Greece, where Bob and Irene resided until 2011. Bob served as a civilian employee at Hellenikon Air Base, in Athens, Greece, for 20 years.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He also loved to read and listen to big band music.
A funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
