Rita Louise (Wilder) Davis, 81, passed away on November 15, 2024. Born and raised in Dunkirk, NY, she moved to her daughter's in VA after her husband of 48 years, Joseph E. Davis, passed away in 2010.
After 35 years working at Dunkirk Ice Cream, which then became Fieldbrook Farms, Rita retired in 2005. She also worked at Van Raalte, Rushes, and Hills Department store.
Rita was a big fan of the Buffalo Bills and drum corps, especially the Murraymen of Hose 4 in Dunkirk. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and her sweet tooth had a fondness for raspberry jellied candies. She enjoyed being on Facebook which allowed her to stay connected with family and friends far and near.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Leroy and Marguerite (Brown) Wilder, and a stillborn son, Joseph E. Davis (1962). She is survived by her children, Ann (Davis) Green of Stafford, VA, Michael P. (Jana) Davis of San Jose, CA, and Joseph R. Davis of Dunkirk, NY, and granddaughter, McKenzie Ann Dean-Davis in VA.
Rita L. Davis, age 81, of Stafford, Virginia passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024.
A celebration of life for Rita will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554.
A celebration of life will occur Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, 56 E. Doughty St, Dunkirk, NY.
