Celeste and I just found out today of your beloved son Jason. We are so very saddened to hear this news. Jason was a great young man and I’ve have enjoyed following his adventures over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are you and your family. 🙏🙏🙏

Jason you took me under your wing at the marina and were there whenever I needed you .Goldie still sings the song you taught him  , it’s his happy song ! He loved you and trusted that you would get him to the boat no matter how steep the ramp was because of high tide and my poor planning . Moose and JD would be so excited coming down the hill because they knew you’d be there ! I loved my “ treasure piles” of driftwood you’d leave for me .....many wonderful memories, such a short time . I love you buddy

Jason was my high school boyfriend’s brother. I remember I used to have the biggest crush on him and would always try to peek at him when I came over. I’m sorry to hear this. May he rest in peace.

Eck family & friends, my deepest condolences to you all during such a tragic and hard time. Life is so fragile and short and to learn that Jason’s was shorter than we could have all imagined is very hard. Jason and I have known each other for quiet a few years, I went to school with Matt and later on became friends with Jason. We weren’t the closest but that doesn’t say anything less than how Jason treated everyone. He was such a charming gentleman and one to give a smile to a stranger or the shirt off of his back. Jason left an impact on many and I hope that during the tough days ahead you are able to rejoice in the love and precious memories you shared and hold them closer for comfort in time. It hurts knowing that you’re no longer with us. I’m gonna miss you, your jokes and the pranks you played, except for the hot sauce you would put in our mouths at sleepovers lol.  I want to thank you for all these years of friendship and being like a brother.  No one can replace you. I love you and I’ll see you again. My condolences go out to your entire family.


One of my earliest and most favorite memories of Jason was when our family went to visit the Eck’s in San Diego. We rode around town looking at Christmas lights in the Eck van that had captain chairs on the second row. Jason sat in the middle seat of the third row. Every time the brakes got pushed Jason did summer-salts all the way to the drivers seats.  Jason was always making sure everyone around him was happy and having a good time. My favorite picture of him was sitting on the front porch with my daughter Allison. He is so handsome. Every once in a while Jason would send me a text with the picture in it. He must have liked it to.  Love you Jason! We will miss you til we meet again.

Jason was one in a million— his smile and humor would light up every room. I’m deeply saddened by this tremendous loss. As Kaytlin put it perfectly, we’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time— hoping he’s rippin’ lips and having a cold one in Heaven. You will be forever missed, Jason ❤️ 

Jason was my brother in law and my husbands best friend. Marrying into a family with 5 other siblings can be intimidating but when I met Jason he made me feel welcomed right away. I’ll miss him adventuring with us. From the Grand Canyon to popping up in photos with my friends, Jason never shied from fun. He was often the fun maker in most situations. Watching the relationship he had with my husband was beautiful. You don’t get to choose your family but the fact that they chose each other as best friends shows what kind of brothers they were. He was never the 3rd wheel, if anything I was. He was hilarious, kind, and loving. He loved playing with my son, jokingly calling him Taz because he’s a wild boy. He’s got his Funcle Jason’s silliness and we couldn’t be happier about it. We love you and miss you Jason, thank you for your endless love over the years. 

Our family is truly heartbroken over the loss of our adopted family member, Jason Eck. He was truly one of a kind; sincere, caring and funny! His smile could light up a room! We will truly miss you Jason! Those daily rides to come visit Mike will be missed most of all. One thing I will miss are your stories about fishing! Your love for going out and catching fish was contagious; it definitely made me want to go out myself! 
For now, I will say I will miss you and I will see you when I see you. Rest in Heaven Jason. Your job on Earth is done. We will be praying for Jason’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Jason was an amazing man who brought light to my life. Not only was he my love but he was my best friend. He was my constant, my everyday. My day started with Jason and ended with Jason. I loved him with all my heart. I think of the little things I miss, like him sucking his teeth, to leaving the cabinet doors open. I will forever miss how he was always there when I needed him the most no matter what time/day it was. His smile lit up a room, his personality made even a dog laugh. His caring heart warmed everyone around him. It saddens me that I won’t hear that special laugh or get that phone call everyday. I will miss you dearly Jason and I’ll do my best  to keep our sweet memories alive.

I will miss Jason's  warm smile and hugs every time I saw him.  Some of my fondest memories were when  Jason, his brother  Matt  and my son Darrell would sit around the table waiting to throw down on home made biscuits, NC country sausage and grits.
Jason's kind spirit will forever remain in my heart.

Jason liked to hang around Daniel, Sam and I when we went scuba diving on the bay side and ocean side of Japan. He was like our own son. He always asked when are we going diving again and if it was alright if he can go. 
Our hearts are heavy with grief to hear of Jason's passing. Thank you for sharing Jason with us in Japan! He gave us a lot of precious memories.

Jason was my favorite Eck kid (sorry other Eck children). He was thoughtful, kind, always willing to help. A loyal, supportive friend who would do anything for you. He randomly would send me pictures or comments about his very strong opinions on lots of topics. The last photo I received was a selfie of proud Funcle Jason and his niece fishing, showing me the Red Bull he jokingly gave her telling me how long it took her mother to notice. And before that were the cinnamon rolls made on April Fools covered in mayonnaise! April Fools Day is always a big holiday in the Eck family. Jason the jokster, like his mom, so full of life. I will miss him and his random text rants dearly. Gone way way too soon. I love you, Jason Eck.

I reached out to you today, the news I learned is overwhelming. The many adventures we went on - fishing, boating and relic hunting. Just last week, a hike up and down hills in search of history.
This last monday we talked for a hour about your future dreams. To say you will be missed, is a understatement. You were always there to help -no matter what - good or bad.
God speed young man. I shed tears for you today.
