OBITUARY
Henry Thomas Pinto Jr.
13 July, 1937 – 2 March, 2018
IN THE CARE OF
Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service
Henry Thomas Pinto, Jr was born July 13, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He served in the U.S Navy, became a Corpsman and completed optician’s school. His specialty occupation was then listed as; Hospital Corpsman, Medical Assistant and Optical-Technician.
Mr. Pinto owned and operated his business Brahm Opticians in Old town Alexandria. After selling his own business Mr. Pinto worked at several Costco optical departments for over 10 years.
He met Robbie in 1990 and a friendship turned into a partnership.
He loved to garden, both vegetables and flowers. He raised goats, guinea hens and of course chickens. One of his nicknames was Eggman. He loved to share them, mostly at Church. Another nickname he went by was Tommy the Turtle Saver, he would stop the car to pick them up out of the middle of the road. He enjoyed long drives on backroads, finding old and abandoned structures. He loved cloud formations, sunsets and rainbows.
He also enjoyed going to the movies and casual trips to the casino where he enjoyed the penny slots. He especially enjoyed his trips to Rocky-Gap Resort and Casino. He loved autumn trips to New England with JP, his wife Jenny (better known as Jane). They loved lighthouses and all through the years, more than likely, saw most of them all over the country. He loved the beach and fortunately Rob and Tom were able to complete a bucket list trip to Maui with lots of help from friends Pat and Linda Boyland. This past summer, thanks to Rob’s cousin Denise Petrino, we were able to get Tom on the beach in Cape May and Brigantine N.J. He got his wish to join God from his home thanks to Capital Caring of Fredericksburg.
At 40 years old he found out that his Mom (Myrtle) was not his birth mother. However, Myrtle will ALWAYS be MOM. In 2016 Mr. Pinto was reunited with two more brothers Paul and Ron Wallace. His birth mother was Edna Wheater, found by his friend, Susan Palma with her “the missing connection.”
Henry Thomas Pinto Jr is survived by his partner Robbie Degrazia, sons Henry Thomas Pinto III (Denise) and Robert Pinto (Rhea), grandson Aaron Green, Sisters Linda Bevan, Jayne Marucci and Joan Beishl, and Brothers James Pinto and Michael Pinto
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Henry T. Pinto; wife, Jenny (Jane); daughter, Jane Green; his sister, Bernice Montgomery; brothers, Charles Russ Pinto and Mathew Pinto.
Probably the most difficult time in his life was the death of his daughter Jane. But she gave him his only grandchild Aaron who is a light in his life.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Dumfries United Methodist Church.
