Elizabeth Erma Shackelford

Elizabeth Erma Shackelford, 79 of Stafford lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, September 16, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband George Shackelford, as well as three children and infant son, William, her youngest daughter Peggy Lou Hicks and oldest son George Wallace Shackelford, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Charles D. “Dennie” Shackelford and wife Vicki, Stanley G. “Peanut” Shackelford and wife Donna, James E. “Duck” Shackelford and wife Shelly all of Stafford; three daughters, Elizabeth “Annie” Mullins and husband Gene, Georgianna “Georgie” Davidson and husband Howard both of Davy, W.Va. and Mary J. “Sissy” O’shea of Stafford; two brothers, Jack and James Perry, and a sister, Mary Dent of Stafford fifteen grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be; Chuck Shackelford, Scottie Hicks, Jason Hicks, Danny Hicks, Howard Davidson Jr. and Steven Brooks Jr. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 20th from 6-8 PM at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Stafford Chapel 186 Shelton Shop Road, where a funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 21st at 12 p.m. with interment to follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
