Elaine Wright

She is survived by her son, Robert Wright (Teresa); her daughters, Susan Hemphill and Lisa Stehling (Michael); and her grandchildren, William Hemphill, John Hemphill (Carmen), Katie Wright, Angela Wright, and Benjamin Stehling.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert O. Wright. She graduated from Bethlehem Business College and went to work as a Secretary at a Savings and Loan company until she married. Since her husband was in the Navy, she moved with him all over the country. She was employed as a Tupperware Dealer/Manager for 10 years and worked as a Bank Teller for another 10 years. She concluded her employment as a Secretary at the Chaplain’s office at Quantico Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA.

Elaine was passionate about singing and participated in various church choirs over the years. She had a beautiful Soprano voice and was often asked to share her talent at Christmas Eve services and perform one of her personal favorites – “O Holy Night.” She was also asked to perform at her children’s elementary school during the annual Parent Talent Show.

In retirement, Elaine enjoyed bowling and taking day trips with her husband and their Senior Citizen’s Group. She was a member of Summit Presbyterian Church in Stafford, VA and participated in various events with the Graduates Senior Social Group. She also enjoyed family get togethers with her children and grandchildren and attended many school programs, graduations, birthdays, and holiday celebrations.

Elaine was a kind and friendly woman with a good sense of humor. She was a good neighbor and friend who maintained several long-term friendships.

A visitation for Elaine will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. An inurnment will occur Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, Virginia 22172.
