Debra Lynn Gilman

Debra Lynn Gilman, 53, entered into eternal rest on Thursday October 19 th , following a brief illness, at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 29, 1970 to George and Carol (Purcell) Arnold, in Lakewood Colorado, Debbie attended school in the Lakewood School System and later studied at the University of Colorado Business School. She was employed in finance at Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado and later as a Senior Advertising Production Manager in Los Angeles, California before meeting the love of her life, Scott Gilman. They were married at Camp Pendleton, California on December 10, 2005, and lived in California, Pennsylvania and Virginia while Mr. Gilman served in the United States Marine Corps. Following her marriage and birth of their son, Steven, Debbie devoted herself to supporting her husband’s career and being a full-time mother. Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Carol. She is survived by her husband, Scott, their son, Steven, of Stafford, VA, her father George and brother, Ed, both of Surprise, Arizona. Debra's Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023 with a visitation an hour prior. Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd. Stafford, VA 22554. Final services will be held later, at the convenience of the family. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
