Palagonia, Dana Lyn (Beers)Stafford, VA: Passed away suddenly at her home on January 15, 2015, following a brief illness. She was born to James and Gayle Beers on February 28, 1959, in Plant City Florida and was raised in Palmyra, NY. Dana was a graduate of the Palmyra-Macedon class of 1977, especially fond of her participation in Pal-Mac's Select Choir. Dana studied Marketing/Advertising at the University of Kentucky, then lived in Orlando, Florida before moving back to Rochester, NY in the early 1990's, where she was employed for 10 years at Channel 13/ WHAM.Dana was an extremely dedicated and loving mother to her son, Derek and daughter, Lily. Dana spent the past 12 years enjoying life in Virginia, traveling with her devoted husband, Maxx. She took pleasure in spending time in Mexico and Arizona. Dana was a lover of culture, passionate about music, the arts, literature, food and wine. She was an incredibly talented and creative interior decorator, cook and gardener. Dana was very spiritual and appreciated individuality. She lived life on her own terms, a zest she has passed on to all who knew her. Her motto was "Love and Light", to all.Dana is survived by her parents, James and Gayle Beers; her husband, Maxx (James) Palagonia; her children, Derek Scott (Linda DiLeva) Des Islets and Lily Calais McIntosh; her siblings, James Todd Beers and Allison (Beers) Eaton; her nephews, Samuel Eaton, Noah Beers, William Eaton, Ethan Beers; step-son, AJ Palagonia; granddaughter, Gianna Palagonia; uncles, cousins & friends.Calling hours, to celebrate her life, will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Bristol Harbour Resort, 5410 Seneca Point Rd., Canandaigua, NY 14424, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in memory of Dana at: The Dreaming Zebra Foundation, (www.dreamingzebra.org).
