Obituary of Alice Buckley
Alice Frances Buckley, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023, in Stafford, Virginia. She was born December 2, 1929, in Yonkers, New York. Alice was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Mungavin and Alice A. (Sabol) Mungavin. She graduated in 1947 from George Washington High School in Manhattan. Following graduation, she became a certified Medical Laboratory Technician and Medical Technologist. She spent her career working at several hospitals and at other health related jobs in New York and New Jersey. She met her husband, Michael Buckley of Duagh, County Kerry, Ireland, in New York City and married him in 1953. She loved reading, history, crafting, and painting. She loved sitting and watching the ocean during her years in Daytona Beach, Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Edwards; her brother, Thomas Mungavin; and her granddaughter Colleen Buckley. She is survived by her children, Michael T. (Carla) Buckley, Daniel (Kathy) Buckley, Alice (Paul) Fili, and Edward (Deborah) Buckley; her grandchildren, Tara Carder, Michael A. Buckley, Katie Buckley, Michael Fili, Lauren Zuravner, Christine Fili, and Michaela Buckley; and her great-grandchildren, Rhett Carder, Rhys Carder, Michael K. Buckley, Leo Zuravner, and Nora Zuravner. Alice’s love and memories will last in our hearts forever. A private family service is being planned.
