Philip Frank Zimmer Jr., age 81, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1943, in Harlingen, Texas. Philip lived a life full of passion and dedication. He proudly served his country as a Marine in the military and was a Vietnam Veteran, demonstrating his courage and commitment.
Philip worked as a salesman of medical equipment and medical billing, sharing his expertise and kindness with all he met. He was deeply passionate about woodworking, coaching baseball, and archery, hobbies that brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with his community in meaningful ways.
He was a member of the Fulshear Church of Christ. As a devout lifelong Christian, Phil’s faith and family were always foremost in his life.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Frances Zimmer; his two sons, Mike and his wife Molly and Andy and his wife Morgan. Phil loved his sons and was so proud of their immense accomplishments which included their choice of their loving and devoted wives. His five grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Harper, Collins and Georgia were all deeply loved by “Pappa Butch”. He will be dearly missed, but he will now be reunited in heaven with his parents, Philip Zimmer Sr. and Leila Zimmer, and his sister, Mary Jo Danley, survived by her husband, Larry Danley and their children.
A military service for Philip will be held on Tuesday, January 7 at 11:15 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, where Marine Corps Honors will be rendered. Guests and Family are to arrive to lane 2 at Houston National Cemetery by 11:00 a.m. The family invites all who knew Philip to join in celebrating his remarkable life. Phil’s spirit will live on forever in all of us that had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
