Mario had a passion for living, and held a special place in his heart for the love of his family. Mario is preceded in death by his parents, Santos G. Morin and Hilda B. Morin. He leaves behind his wife, Ernestina R. Morin, and their daughter, Denisse Morin, six brothers and sister, Eva Sanchez and Family, Rolando Morin and family, Diana Morin-Richardson and family, Nelda Macias and family, Noel Morin and family, and Santos Morin, Jr. and family.
Mario graduated from Madison Sr. High Class of ‘78. At the age of 20, he started working for Kroger Co. in 1980 he had a 42-year career. He entered as a Produce Clerk and retired as a Produce Manager in March 2022. He enjoyed his work and was known for his dedication and ethics.
In retirement, Mario enjoyed life-spending time with his family, traveling to the Rio Grande Valley and visiting relatives. He loved listening to his favorite songs with his daughter in the car, singing and moving to the beat of the music. Mario could always make his daughter laugh with his jokes and off key singing. It was the everyday moments of being a father that will forever live on within his daughter’s life.
Mario’s favorite pass time and passion was playing Pool, he started playing when he graduated from High School representing his dad’s, Santos Morin, billiard pool hall “Cureton Cue Club Billiards”, he then joined varies other leagues ending with the Houston Lonestar BCA Pool League #191, and at the height of his pool career he reached the level of Masters. His Team was the “Texans Shooters” made up of four brothers, Mario, Rolando, Noel, & Santos, Jr., and one nephew, Carlos. Games were played on Tuesdays and he carried a Fargo score of 622, one of the top ratings in the league. The team also played every year in the Las Vegas BCA Pool League World Championships Tournaments entering the Gold and Platinum Divisions. It was an adventure and a fun time for all. He looked forward to it every year and of course did a little gambling.
Mario lived life to the fullest and will dearly be missed by his family and friends.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.
A Celebration of Mario's life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 also in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home.
