FRANK ANTHONY REINA, age 89, was sent to the Lord April 18th, 2016. He was a native Houstonian, born September 14, 1926. Frank attended St. Thomas Catholic High School, class 1944. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served in the Pacific on LSM 187. He married Carmen Velotta (his one and only rose) in 1950 and raised seven children. Frank was the well-known and much-loved proprietor of Witte Drive in Meat Market for 46 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 803.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carmen Velotta Reina (his one and only rose); sister, Josephine; and brother, Vincent. He leaves behind seven children, their spouses and family; Frank Reina and his wife Deborah, Charles Reina and his wife Connie, Anthony (Tony) Reina, Cathy Hines and her husband, Dan, Mary Jo James, Linda Mountain and her husband Cliff, and Nancy Mitchell; 17 grandchildren, Angela, Andrew, Michael, Chas, Kristiana, Kaitlin, Kelly, Paul, Amanda, Sierra, Brooke, Crystal, Stone, Megan, Douglas, Lauren, and Zachary; and nine great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Sophia, Cash, Samantha, Frank, Gage, Drake, Victoria and Ella. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Charlene Love, her husband Clifton, their children, Stephen, Cliff, Diane and her husband Chad, and Estelle Love, Mary Cate, Andrew, and Noah; and grandchildren-in-laws, Alberto Greca, Jimmy LaRose, Michael Hoffman, and Wendy Mitchell.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 22, 2016, at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, TX, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:45 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, TX, with the Rev. Drew Wood, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Frank’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or to St. Thomas Catholic High School (Houston).
