DOROTHY MAE MILLER, age 85, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011. She was born on March 29, 1925, in Houston, TX, to Walter and Dora Brown Pace. Dorothy was honored to belong to the Military Girls Organization during World War II. For eleven years, she worked at Westbury High School, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed. Dorothy always put her family’s happiness above her own. Her husband, children, friends, and later grandchildren, were her entire world. Dorothy always made sure that everyone around her was taken care of. She found the positive in every situation; realizing that it took more effort to find the negative. Dorothy treated everyone she met with great respect and kindness.
Dorothy’s sweet smile will be deeply missed by the many lives that she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive father, Louis Taylor; and her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Robert A. Miller, Jr. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Janice M. Keith and husband Roy; son, Michael Miller and wife Shannon; three beautiful grandchildren, Molly, Dyllan, and Christian Miller; sister, Patsy Reese; brother, Walter Pace; niece, Jennifer Reese; and many other close family members and friends. A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Earthman Southwest Chapel, Stafford, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, also at Earthman Southwest Chapel. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, TX. The family would like to express their special thanks to everyone at Emeritus at Sugar Land, for the wonderful care they provided to Dorothy. They would like to extend many thanks to her special friend and care-giver, of over ten years, Sara Diaz and also her sister Martha Beger, for both their kindness and compassion.
