Age 89, of Halifax, NS, died March 10, 2024, at Saint Petersburg, Florida, as a result of a Motor vehicle accident. He was born on January 6, 1935, in Halifax, NS, to the late Philip and Dorothy (Glover) Rose. Phil was married to Jean (Prescott) Rose on July 4, 1959, and they raised their family in Halifax. Phil spent his working career in the Heating Oil business with the majority of his time at S. Cunard and Company where he was the General Manager. Together with family Phil and Jean enjoyed many summers at their cottage in Malagash. Phil loved the outdoors, and any and all animals. He was predeceased by Jean on March 3, 2003. Philip married his second wife, Dorothy Mosher, in 2008 and they enjoyed travel, golf and cottage time together. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mosher; son, Peter (Jill), Calgary; daughter, Allison (Greg), Bedford; grandchildren, Hannah, Hamilton, Josh, Halifax and Emma and Patrick, Calgary; sisters, Faye and Janet (Gary), of Halifax and Doris (Wayne), of Sackville; and Dorothy’s son, Scott, and daughters, Laurie and Linda and their families. A service of remembrance will take place at a later date. Donations in Phil’s memory can be made to the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter or an animal shelter of your choice. We will miss you, Papa.
A memorial service for Philip Rose will take place on April 20, 2024 at Trinity Anglican Church on Main avenue in Halifax Nova Scotia at 11:00 am
