Herbert Donat Sr., aged 86, of St. Pete Beach, passed away on May 7, 2023. He was born November 7, 1936, in New York City, the son of Henry and Olga Donat. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Isabel; his three children, Dawn (Husband, John) Beil, Herbert (Wife, Traci) Donat Jr., and Kimberly Donat Ali; granddaughter Jane Louise; and his siblings, Yvonne (Husband, Jim) McLeish and Marvin (Wife, Cyd) Donat.
At the age of 22, he married his wife of 64 years, Isabel, and went on to have three beautiful children. He spent ten years in the United States Navy Reserves before serving two years of active duty. Herb spent ten years in the fire department. He had a passion for working with children and coached girls' softball for several years on St. Pete Beach. He then went on to work for Home and Rehabilitative Services (HRS), helping juveniles. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Cayo Costa, where he could be found fishing, boating, and shelling. He will always be remembered for his dedication to others and his love for his family.

A memorial service for Herbert will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 COREY AVE, ST PETE BEACH, FL 33706.
